National Half Marathon Championships

Important information for participants of the National Half Marathon Championships.

The athlete must wear club singlet or an alternative permitted in certain circumstances with permission of meet manager or race director on application with entry.

Age:

18 years of age or over on the 31st of December in the year of competition. Team scores are calculated for the first athletes across the line, unless otherwise declared. Scores are calculated based on finishing times; the youngest age of the team will apply as the team category.

Medals:

Individuals

Senior Men and Senior Women: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd
Masters Men and Masters Women: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in O35, O40, O45, O55, O60, O65, O70, O75, and O80.

Teams

Senior Men and Senior Women: 3 to score, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams.
Master Men and Master Women: 3 to score, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd teams in O35 and O50.

There is no limit on the number of teams a club can have.
Over-50s can score on the over-35 team or the senior team, but they can only score on one team.

By not declaring you give the club better flexibility.

By not declaring: top 3 athletes naturally fall into seniors if they are fast enough and within the fastest 3 teams overall. If they are not fast enough they fall back into masters teams. This gives more flexibility. If those masters also don't finish in senior medalist team places 1, 2 or 3 they fall back into masters team.

If you declare, you take away the flexibility of moving up and down. Once teams are declared only those members are part of that team.

Ensure that your declared athletes will show up on the day.
